The Finnish SAR-system - Air Scent Tests
The test consists of two parts
Field work
THE FIELD WORK
The field work is performed normally in the woods. The searching area is about 30,000 square meters. There are 2-3 people hidden in the area.
The instructor makes a working scheme and proceeeds accordingly thorough the test.
The dog must search the area throroughly by the instructor's commands. The instructor (and the dog) must move on on the area, moving backwards is not allowed.
To qualify, a participating dog must find all the target persons in 30 minutes of time and indicate (several allowed methods) them clearly to the instructors.
