Conformation: Just about everything possible with varying success... once even 0 (disqualified) and several times certificates of beauty and BOBs. The breed was new and unknown in this country and the judges' opinions were many and changeable.

"Peikko" was our first bouvier and also out of the first bouvier litter born in Finland - and of course also the first one in this town Turku. We joined the local obedience training groups with him right away (at those days bouviers were not  entitled to take part in working dog trials in this country) and for years they talked about Peikkodogs when indicating bouviers...

Peikko was a charming companion who knew how to take his audience. When Peikko was older and we had puppies he was mainly horrified about those nasty little ones but took every opportunity to introduce this breed bouvier and himself to the families who came to see the puppies. For many, many times we had to answer "NO!" to their question "Would You sell this adult male to us?". He was the one whose bottom just happened to land on the shoulder of a visitor sitting on our sofa and just reaching his hand for a cup of coffee...

Peikko visited the conformation ring as a veteran on Sunday and passed away on the next Friday. In one week's time cancer was diagnosted, tried to take in control  but found to be so aggressive that there was no hope anymore. Peikko joined Ultra-The-Schnauzer and Roope-The-Bernese at The Rainbow Bridge at the age of only seven years.
