Now this is a happy description to write! Klaara is special. Klaara was born with a lot of noice and she was black and white. She had sit in black paint so that half of her, the back side, was black and half of her, the front side, was pale grey and the line drawn between her two parts was clair and distinct! Every single time when we have kept one of our owns the puppies themselves have very clearly made the choise to stay here... And so did Klaara eventhough Jorma tried to suggest her brother Kurre to be one of us. But we girls knew better - and Klaara is now Piukku's number one bouvier.
I could write a book about her - maybe I do one day. When the nights are dark and it is very late and You have eaten and drunk quite a lot with Your friends it is often time for some philosophical thoughts. If that were the situation now I would discribe Klaara as a new soul. Ankka and Jylppy are actually the one and same dog, Klaara is a new one, Mervi-Anneli will come back one day... OK, back to the reality or Jorma will cencor this whole story! Hopefully we will have a long life together with Klaara, now 2 years old. We respect strong personalities in dogs, the ones that know their place and rights and responcibilities but regularly are driven to try to get some more... Dogs that enjoy their work, want to do some more and want to do that with You and to You. Klaara is that kind of a bouvier.
Klaara has enjoyed a long, free and wild puppyhood and I started her actual training only on the last day of March this year 1998. She will probably be an allrounder as her bigsister Jylppy (search, tracking, general trial) but we have started with search with no problems or difficulties until now. Every one who has trained dogs knows that that does not mean training and learning without interruptions but it means learning by all kinds of challenging and acceptable situations.
We started with fetching. Klaara has a really strong pray drive so I decided I could not use that in teaching. Klaara had decided otherwise and we had continuing fights for months - but honest fights during which we both knew what the other one was planning and thinking next and both of us had flames in our eyes and speech and we both used force to show the other one what we think about this part "Fetch!" in obedience. Yesterday we were training article search in the woods. In two minutes she found three tiny articles and fetched them to me running and jumping and offering them to me by pushing my belly with the article. I just love to work with this beast. She is the one to whome we focus the highest hopes of this Naavaparran gang in the future.
