Ankka was our first import from The Netherlands and from the bouvierkennel van de Axmagal, Alex and Marty Gal, Amsterdam. At those days imported dogs had to spend 4 months in guarantine when arriving to Finland and those four months were one of the longest in our life. There she waited in a dull cage in the middle of a terribly cold winter with nothing to do and nobody to play with. She was a wild, extremely clever and proud bouvier who chose Piukku to be her mistress and who devoted her life to demonstrating us the full meening of the impression "a working dog".
She was mother to our first and second Naavaparran litter and introduced us also the world of a dog breeder. During her life we succeeded in getting bouviers transferred to the working dog group with full rights and responsibilities - including the right of entering the working dog trials and training. So, Ankka led us also to this neverending road of working dog activities. Ankka was the dog of the life for Piukku and she also decided to come back in Jylppy - but that is quite another story that...
Anka died totally unexpectedly to Piukku's arms at home at the age of 9 years. Only a couple of hours earlier she had been playing with a German Shepherd puppy who came to sosialize himself with a reliable, gentle but very playful Grand-Ma-Ankka. When Piukku came home from a business trip to Helsinki Ankka started her farewells and left us in 30 minutes because of pancreas cancer of which we had known nothing.
